About Us

Is our farm right for you?

We are a fantastic starter barn; a place to learn in a safe environment at your own pace, where knowledge and correct foundations are not lacking-where progress is praised rather than perfection. We believe that versatility truly makes a rider; and our program does its best to create strong, adaptable students who can thrive in many different environments.

Your journey with us

Many riders begin with us in pony lessons, and many come to us with a good knowledge of the basics already. We are excited to meet you where you are on your equestrian journey.

HORSE CARE

All riders begin by learning how to halter, lead, groom, tack up, and handle their ponies and horses from the ground before riding. This will be expected of all riders at every lesson.

Games, challenges, and obstacles are utilized a lot for the pony lessons for hands on learning that is fun and easy to understand for the youngest riders. We will work on balance, steering, control and confidence.

THE BASICS

After a student masters the basics, or if a student is coming to us as a rider who already understands the basics, we will focus on correctness, fundamentals, good horsemanship, using aids properly, technique, and equitation.

FUNDAMENTALS & MORE

TRAINING IN SPECIFIC AREAS

After a student has mastered the fundamentals, we can provide further training into specific areas such as introductions to showing, jumping, barrel racing, etc.

Next Steps

After a student has advanced through all of our training, they may be ready to move to a larger facility into a specific discipline or event. We are well connected with many equestrian facilities and trainers, and can provide suggestions & guidance in choosing the next step in your equestrian journey!

Meet Your Instructor

Hi, I’m Ari Frantz

I have been riding most of my life and have an extensive background in both English and Western disciplines. We have around 12 horses, give or take, on our farm at any given time. The only NON lesson “unicorn” you’ll see in the pastures is my personal horse, Rum (pictured here). I waited 23 years in the industry for her, and she was well worth the wait!

As you may have read, I truly believe versatility makes the rider. All of our riders begin by learning how to halter, lead, groom, tack up, and handle their ponies and horses from the ground before riding. Games, challenges, and obstacles are utilized a lot for the pony lessons for hands on learning that is fun and easy to understand for the youngest riders. Correctness, fundamentals, good horsemanship, using their aids properly, technique, and equitation is worked on for students ready to continue their progress.

This job is truly my passion, I am thrilled to share it on a day to day basis with my lesson students, and help cultivate their love and respect for this lifestyle.
